CHANGES TO THE MINIMUM AND NATIONAL LIVING WAGE

The Government is increasing the National Minimum and National Living Wage rates on 1 April 2018.

These changes include the largest increases in a decade, the hourly rate for the minimum wage depends on your age and whether you’re an apprentice.

More employers than ever will be directly affected by these increases, including those who currently pay above the minimum.

The new rates are as follows:

  • Apprenticeships rates will increase from £3.50 to £3.70
  • Under 18 rates will increase from £4.05 to £4.20
  • 18 to 20 rates will increase from £5.60 to £5.90
  • 21 to 24 rates will increase from £7.05 to £7.38
  • 25 and over rates will increase from £7.50 to £7.83
